Calyon Securities is a global corporate and investment bank created by the 2004 merger of Credit Agricole and Credit Lyonnais. We are seeking to fill a Research Associate position in the Equity Research department, reporting to the senior Energy (E&P and Oil Services) analyst.

The qualified candidate should be a self-starter, energetic, analytical individual with a passion for investment research and a demonstrated record of achievement willing to take on an increasing amount of responsibility over time. Candidates should have a background in finance, accounting, or a related field. Ideal candidates will also have at least a year of experience in sell-side or buy-side equity research. 

  • Build and maintain valuation spreadsheets and earnings models;
  • Assist in the development and writing of industry and company reports;
  • Maintain sources of industry data and data files;
  • Assist senior analyst in responding to needs of sales force and institutional clients;
  • Prepare and maintain marketing handouts;
  • Work independently on a series of projects related to key themes in Energy
  •  
  • Preferred/Required Qualifications
    • Undergraduate degree from a well respected school in finance, accounting, or related fields are ideal, although those without finance-related degrees possessing relevant business experience will be considered;
    • Experience maintaining financial models and complex data bases;
    • A good understanding of equity securities;
    • Excellent writing skills;
    • Series 7, 63, 86 and 87 licenses preferred
