Our client is seeking a San Francisco area based middle office analyst.The main responsibility will be to perform the middle office function for Interest Rates (OTC and Cash), Commodities, Muni’s (fixed and variable), and Equities. THIS IS A LOCAL POSITION ONLY. NO RELOCATION PROVIDED



  The candidate will need to have extensive experience with trade capture, profit and loss reporting and risk analysis as it applies to a derivative and securities Middle Offices role.  

  The preferred individual will have knowledge of Ags, Metals, Crude and Energy along with understanding the concepts of financial vs. physical deals.  

The succesful candidate will have several years experience in the following areas:

  1. Independently obtains, verify and saves to the “official close” market data set. Duties include validating various model inputs, creating closing curves and volatility surfaces for calculating P&L.  P&L is done via the “greeks.”
  2. Work with the front office on reconciling daily P&L. The daily P&L reporting includes OTC trades and hedges.
  3. Responsible for creating cash settlements for the operations team and assist them on any settlement discrepancies. Responsible for generating fair values used to book to the general ledger.  Also must work with the accounting group in reconciling month end general ledger numbers to the monthly P&L.
  4. Perform trade review for all trades that have been executed, amended and terminated.
  5. As part of a control group, the Middle Office must review and append Sarbanes Oxley documents and assisting with both internal and external auditors during review process.  Provide various reports for the OCC, FAS 133 and Federal Reserve.
