The opportunity: Fast growing emerging markets fund is looking for an Associate with good understanding and knowledge of CEE with relevant cultural background and languages

Role:
You will be part of a small and very involved team and as part of the role you will be responsible for screening investment opportunities, performing thorough financial analysis and due diligence and participating in any post investment management requirements
Skills required:
Candidates must be London based with transactional experience gained from a professional services/ accounting firm or an investment bank, outstanding financial modelling skills, knowledge and experience in emerging markets, in particular CEE as well as an additional Central European language

Our client is a €500m+ fund, managed by an experienced partnership team that focuses its investments in emerging markets with particular interest in central and eastern Europe. The fund targets established businesses across a variety of sectors including pharmaceuticals, consumer goods, real estate and infrastructure.

The team requires an associate to join and support the partners in all aspects of the transaction cycle, from screening to execution of investments in the region. This is a very entrepreneurial fund where you will have a steep learning curve and as your experience progresses you will be able to take ownership and responsibility of transactions. A cultural empathy with emerging markets, particularly in emerging Europe is important and you will be expected to travel extensively across the region and deal with financial, business and government leaders locally.

Candidates must have the following:

  • Strong academic background
  • Transaction experience gained from having work within a transaction services team at professional services/ accounting firm or an investment bank
  • Outstanding analytical and financial modelling skills with good commercial judgment
  • Good knowledge and command of at least one CEE language
  • Adaptability, proactive and self-motivated approach and good team spirit
  • Currently London based, willing and able to travel in the role
