About the Position: The Software Development Manager reports to the Director of Risk Management and works in partnership with other departments to design and implement software applications and tools for risk analysis of hedge funds. This includes defining project requirements, choosing suitable technologies and coordinating a development team to code and maintain production-quality applications. The Software Development Manager will oversee a growing team of junior programmers and contribute to an immediate team of 15. Job Requirements: The ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications: • BA/BS or higher degree in computer science, electrical engineering or related field; • 7+ years of developing database-driven web applications; • Extensive experience in developing production-quality SQL code; • 3+ years of hands-on experience in object-oriented design, development and implementation; solid understanding of software development life cycle; • Experience in supervising junior programmers; • Knowledge of database reporting solutions such as SQL Server Reporting Services; • Experience in the financial industry is a plus; • Desired proficiencies include Microsoft .Net, ASP .Net, VB.Net and C#; • Knowledge of statistics and statistical packages (i.e. S+ and MATLAB) is a plus.
